How it works
$PLOTO is a token on Solana, launched through pump.fun with a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000. PLOTO gives the joke a body: a simulated city whose only money, GRIT, also has a fixed supply that can only shrink. This page is the whole rulebook of that city, plus a plain list of what is real and what is not.
Brand recognition is a full-time job. Not his.
WORK
Citizens take shifts and jobs. Wages are the one payment nobody levies, so an hour of work is always worth its full price.
SPEND
Lunch, rent, jackets, permits. Personal purchases carry the sales levy; shops pay a levy on their margin. Loans come with a stamp.
BURN
Every levy goes to Chairman Plotkin, who burns it. Owners can also burn GRIT on upgrades. Nothing is ever minted after day one.
The levy code
Written by the Chairman. Burned by the Chairman.
- 9% sales levy
- On personal shopping: anything a citizen keeps for its own use. Shop-to-shop supplies are exempt, so the levy never compounds from one supplier to the next. Rounded to whole coins, minimum one.
- 25% margin levy
- Collected at the till as each sale clears: a quarter of what the shop made over its cost. Selling at cost pays nothing, and there is no tax day to dodge.
- 2% debt stamp
- Charged on every new loan from the Ledger House, burned before the cash reaches the borrower. Loans carry 6% interest, which is the bank's revenue, not a levy.
- 6% gate toll
- Burned when owners take earnings out of the city at the weekly payday. It slows selling exactly where selling happens.
- Never levied
- Wages, job rewards, and the money an owner puts in to keep a citizen running.
Example: one citizen, one week
- Starting purse from the owner
- 10,000
- Shifts worked (40 × ~100)
- +4,000
- Lunches and groceries (2,000)
- −2,000
- Sales levy on those, burned
- −180
- Loan taken (1,000), 2% stamp burned
- +980
- Owner cashes out half of 4,000
- −2,000
- Gate toll on that, burned
- (120 of it)
- Left in the citizen's purse
- 10,800
- Burned this week by one citizen
- 320 + shop margins
Unlimited citizens, rising price
Anyone can have a new citizen grown. In the model it is priced in SOL, opens at 1 SOL and doubles every 120 citizens. The fee buys GRIT on the toy market and all of it is burned. The target pace is 4 new citizens a day: run ahead and the price heats up, fall behind and it cools by as much as a tenth per day, with a floor at 25% of the scheduled price, so growing one always becomes worth it again. Taking over a sleeping citizen whose owner walked away costs 25% of today's fee, which burns as well.
On-schedule price by citizen number. Inside the simulation only; no real citizen can be bought.
The civic purse, in the model
The simulation gives the city 0.5 SOL a day from outside, a stand-in for launch fees. It splits it like this:
- 45% ordinances: bought as GRIT, paid to citizens for the Chairman's jobs.
- 30% compute: the citizens' thinking. Leaves the model.
- 15% buyback and burn.
- 10% citizen grants.
This is a rule of the simulation, not a commitment about how any real $PLOTO fee is used.
Ideas that are not built
Written down so nobody mistakes them for features. None of them exists today, none has a date, and each would need an independent audit first.
- Holding $PLOTO to give a practice citizen a name badge in the registry.
- A citizen per wallet whose levies are paid in real $PLOTO and burned by a program, with the program's rules public.
- Citizen shares as real tokens. The legal questions alone make this the least likely.
What is real right now
- $PLOTO is a Solana token (contract address published at launch on this site and on X).
- Live numbers labelled as chain data: SOL price, slot, network throughput, and $PLOTO supply and market once the mint exists.
- Everything inside The Plot is a simulation. There is no on-chain program behind it, and no button here can touch your tokens.
What we will never do
- ✕ promise that burns make the price go up
- ✕ pay interest, yield or rewards for holding
- ✕ request a signature over a DM or through a link we did not post
- ✕ show a simulated number as if it were on-chain
Questions people ask
What is PLOTO?
PLOTO is an AI agent economy simulator on Solana, told as satire. A city of simulated AI citizens works, shops, borrows and pays levies in an in-game coin called GRIT, and their founder, Chairman Plotkin, burns every levy. $PLOTO is the project's real token on Solana; GRIT is not a token at all.
How does PLOTO work?
The city runs in your browser from a fixed daily seed, so everyone sees the same simulated day. Citizens earn untaxed wages, pay a 9% sales levy on personal purchases, shops pay a 25% levy on their margin, loans carry a 2% debt stamp and cash-outs a 6% gate toll. Every levy is burned inside the model. You can change each rule on the simulator page and watch the result.
How do I buy $PLOTO?
$PLOTO is not launched yet. At launch, the contract address is published on this site and on the official X account. You will need a Solana wallet such as Phantom, Solflare or Backpack with some SOL, then buy on pump.fun or swap on Jupiter using that exact address. Ignore any address sent to you in a DM.
Which network is PLOTO on?
$PLOTO is a token on Solana. The simulated city does not run on any network: it is code in your browser, and nothing in The Plot touches a chain.
Is PLOTO audited?
No. There is no smart contract to audit: PLOTO deploys no program, and the site only reads public chain data. $PLOTO is a standard pump.fun token. Treat it as a meme token with no intrinsic value.
Are the burns on this site real?
The burns inside The Plot are simulated GRIT. A real $PLOTO burn is shown only when it can be read on-chain, as the mint's supply sitting below the one billion launch supply. Until the token exists, that number is not shown at all.
Does connecting a wallet do anything?
It reads your public address so the site can show your SOL balance and, after launch, your $PLOTO balance. The site never asks you to sign a message or a transaction, and practice features never touch your wallet.
